Head down to Garden City Beach! Here you can walk the FREE Garden City Pier. I think this is the only pier left in the Grand Strand where you can still walk the pier without a fee. You'll find free parking at the bottom of the pier, and under it as well.

While you're at Garden City Beach, don't miss the smaller public pier where you can enjoy the free Children's Park, see some lovely scenery, and even go crabbing. It is named Sanford D Cox, Sr. Commuinity Park.
Garden City Beach Pier 1.
Garden City Beach Pier 2,

Directions: Take17 Bus. 17 south, toward Garden City Beach. You'll see two overhead signs - one says Garden City Connector, and the other says Pine Ave. - both signs point left. Turn left here and go about half a mile to the dead end at Ellizabeth. The park is straight ahead, at the dead end. Pull in, and you can park free.

My tips to help you find seashells   Beachcombing is fun and free for your entire family, and all ages love this activity!

Public Parks andrecreation areas are always free, See the list on this link and find a public park near your vacation rental!

Walk the Marshwalk at Murrells Inlet. In my opinion, this is one of the best free things you can do! Don't forget your camera! The Veterans' Pier provides beautiful views of Garden City Beach nad Murrells Inlet.

If bikes are your thing, check out Bike the Waccamaw Neck. This flat paved trail parallels US 17 from Murrells Inlet to SAndy Island Road near Huntington Beach State Park.By using completed sections of the tgrails and roads with Share the Road signs, you can ride or walk from Murrell’s Inlet to Pawleys Island. Map of Bike the Neck. Anaother suggesting for biking is the Pawleys Island Loop
